Inclusive Excellence and HSI-MSI Initiatives Ambassador – Office of Inclusive Excellence

Join the Inclusive Excellence (IE) Office and the Hispanic-Serving and Minority-Serving (HSI-MSI) Initiatives team as an Ambassador! You'll have the exciting opportunity to support outreach efforts, culturally affirming programs, monthly workshops and lunch-and-learns, and contribute to important campus committees. Our IE and HSI-MSI Ambassadors will engage in campus community activities, including tabling, open houses, IE and heritage month events, and student feedback sessions, to promote a diverse and inclusive campus environment.


This position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to Inclusive Excellence efforts while developing valuable leadership and collaboration skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support outreach efforts and projects for IE/HSI-MSI, including open houses and Accepted Students' Day
  • Collaborate with IE and HSI-MSI on culturally affirming programming, including bilingual tours, presentations, and materials
  • Assist in collecting and sharing student feedback on IE and HSI-MSI initiatives
  • Serve on campus committees, such as the MLK Jr. Campus Celebration and heritage month planning committees
  • Support programming, including heritage months and observances, as well as monthly lunch-and-learns
  • Assist with initiatives that support our diverse student population, including multilingual learners, immigrant students, and nontraditional students.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Eligible for work-study per financial aid
  • Attend weekly Ambassador meetings and provide project updates
  • Available to work 7-10 hours a week
  • Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interested in contributing to a diverse campus climate
  • Bilingual or multilingual, preferably Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole

Pay

  • $16/hour, 10 hours per week, paid via work-study employment during the 2024-2025 academic year.
