Student Testing Assistant I – Center for Accessible Academic Resources
The Student Testing/CAAR Assistant I supports the Coordinator of Placement and Tutoring and other CAAR staff with administering Accuplacer/ALEKS placement assessments, either in person in CAAR or via Zoom. This role also assists with general office operations and student support as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities

Welcome students and create a comfortable, professional testing environment

Explain testing procedures clearly to students

Set up students for exams and remain present (in-person or on Zoom) to monitor testing and address questions

Troubleshoot minor technical difficulties during testing sessions

Maintain clear and consistent communication with CAAR staff regarding placement procedures

Assist students who visit the office, including support with printing and general inquiries

Provide front desk coverage for the Administrative Assistant when necessary

Participate in paid CAAR events and tabling opportunities

Attend and participate in required paid training sessions

Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Ability to work independently and take initiative

Reliable and dependable, including consistent punctuality and clear communication if unable to report to work

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; welcoming and supportive to all students

Basic computer and troubleshooting skills
Wages
$16.50/hr
