Library Aide – Library

Work-Study Position supporting the following areas within the library:
Education Resource Area/Makerspace
Library Administration
Library Program Area
Collection Management
Archives
*Position may assist in multiple areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Shelving, shifting, and helping with weeding materials, maintaining order in the area, and assisting with inventory.
  • Using online system to manage library materials.
  • Assisting with locating materials, answering questions about library resources and services, and providing referrals to other library staff and librarians when needed.
  • Providing basic assistance with printers, scanners, and other library technology.
  • Assisting with special projects as assigned, which could involve creating displays, digitizing materials, and searching for booklists or data entry.
  • Setting up and closing spaces, ensuring a clean and organized environment. Reporting space and supply maintenance issues.
  • Assisting with programs, workshops, events, and social media.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must provide proof of federal work-study funding
  • Have 6 hours of availability sometime during the following days/hours: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 11 am - 5 pm and Fridays 3 pm - 5 pm.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and Google sheets).
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures.

Wages

$15.00/hr
