North Shore Policy Lab Marketing and Outreach Assistant – Media and Communication

The North Shore Policy Lab mobilizes faculty and students to complete applied public policy research in collaboration with local and state public officials and agencies and community-based organizations that informs a range of urgent public and social issues affecting the communities in our region. In so doing, the North Shore Policy Lab will contribute to the Salem State University mission to make critical contributions to civic life, environmental sustainability, and the cultural, social, and economic vitality of the North Shore region.

Part of the vision of the North Shore Policy Lab is to contribute to deeper and stronger connections among students, faculty, and public communities of the North Shore. Towards that end, we want to begin a conversation about aligning curricular offerings and applied policy research projects with K-12 and Community Colleges in the North Shore Region.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Design an outreach presentation for the NSPL to present at campus events, tabling, in classrooms and groups based on the NSPL marketing plan.
  2. Produce a NSPL newsletter each semester.
  3. Assist in the design and upkeep of the NSPL website, including uploading new reports, updates.
  4. Promote NSPL activities and reports on social media where appropriate.
  5. Assist NSPL director in scheduling meetings with affiliated faculty and other potential faculty collaborators across the university.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate with different audiences at Salem State University including students, faculty, staff and community partners
  • Strong writing and design skills for public audiences.
  • Analytic skills.
  • Preferred: Experience with the North Shore Policy Lab

Wages

$16.00/hr
