McKeown Student Mentor Coordinator – SPS Middle School Mentorship Program – McKeown School of Education

McKeown Student Mentor Coordinator will support the coordination and implementation of a semester-long mentorship program connecting McKeown Student Mentors (MSMs) with 8th grade students at Collins and Saltonstall Middle Schools. The coordinator will work under the direction of the ESOC Program Specialist and in collaboration with Salem Public Schools staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment, selection, and onboarding of MSM Student Mentors in collaboration with SPS and WPS.

  • Support scheduling and logistics for mentorship sessions and training events, including on-campus tour coordination.

  • Track mentor applications, attendance, timesheets, and engagement data.

  • Serve as liaison between SSU, ESOC, and SPS to ensure seamless communication and execution of program goals.

  • Attend and support MSMs during onboarding, mentorship sessions, and reflection meetings.

  • Provide ongoing administrative and operational support, including preparing materials, confirming transportation logistics, and ensuring session space readiness.

Session Schedule:
Mentorship sessions occur during school hours and include prep and debrief time. Spring dates include:

  • Feb. 3, Feb. 10, March 3 (campus tour), with additional spring dates TBD.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a graduate program in Higher Education Student Affairs/concurrently employed as the ESOC GA.

  • Experience in educational programming or student mentorship

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate across institutional and community partners

Wages

$20.00/hr
