Counseling and Health Services Assistant – Counseling and Health Services
This job requires in-person training the week of August 25th, 2025 and will be paid with institutional funds. The job will continue into the academic year (Fall 2025-Spring 2026) and will be funded by work study. Applicants should be eligible for work study, and hiring will be contingent on work study eligibility for Fall 2025-Spring2026.
The Counseling and Health Services Student Employee will work with our team of nurse practitioners and administrative assistants, assisting Counseling and Health Services with our office tasks. This student will assist with the upkeep of various resources CHS offers, including but not limited to: creating kits for reproductive health, stocking the wellness vending machine, assisting with programming run by the office, stocking Narcan boxes throughout campus, spreading awareness about office resources, tabling on campus, and creating or sharing social media campaigns. Students will not be working with any patients of the Counseling and Health Services office. This is a work study position and students must have approved work study to be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with general support for non-clinical office tasks

Assist in preparing items for the Wellness Vending machines, and over-the-counter cart in front of Counseling and Health Services

Assist with stocking Narcan dispenser boxes throughout campus

Assist with outreach to students to remind them of immunization and vaccination requirements

Participate in wellness education and compliance team meetings

Participate in campus events to share wellness and public health information and resources

Promote on campus wellness resources, such as wellness vending machine, SS2U, menstrual product dispensers, DIY STI testing, etc. Creativity on how best to do this is encouraged.

Understand and follow all university and state COVID protocols and mandates

Work on other special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Compliant with all Immunization and Wellness Requirements. Preference to those also up to date with and understands the importance of recommended vaccines such as flu, COVID booster, HPV, etc.

Students who are interested in health promotion on campus are especially encouraged to apply

Ability to effectively communicate across multiple platforms with various public health and wellness staff, which includes Microsoft teams, email, etc.

Ability to talk with other students about wellness resources and policies

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends

Demonstrate strict adherence to confidentiality and privacy protocols. Participation in HIPPA confidentiality training provided and required.

Ability to maintain and protect confidential student information

Demonstrate sensitivity to students, faculty, and staff of varying racial, ethnic, religious, cultural, and disability backgrounds, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic backgrounds

Minimum GPA: 2.00

Must be able to carry up to 10 pounds
Wages
$15.00/hr
