Tree Care Intern – Facilities
The Tree Care intern will be responsible for watering newly planted trees weekly along a specific route. This will involve watering trees using a hose as well as filling a water cube and driving it along a route and watering trees from that. The intern will note any problems with the new trees and help address minor related issues. Position will likely be 2-3 days per week but will be determined via a mutually agreeable schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate with Facilities to establish weekly watering route for newly planted trees.
Water some trees via hose.
for other trees, fill water cube and drive a route a utility vehicle to water trees that are along roads or major pathways.
Note any problems with trees and address minor issues.
Report weekly to Facilities on watering route.
Minimum Qualifications
Provide Driver's License number to enable a safety check before driving Facilities vehicles.
Have familiarity and experience with tree care, watering, and mulching, and a passion for and understanding of sustainable landscape benefits.
Ability to be a self-starter and to work well with minimal supervision.
Communicate information in a timely manner.
Graduate student is preferred.
Wages
$18.50/hr
