Intern for the Digital Ethnic Futures Consortium – English
Student interns for the Digital Ethnic Futures Consortium will assist a faculty researcher with collecting, organizing, and presenting materials for a Digital Humanities project.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive training in digitization and encoding for scholarly projects, in data set creation and curation, and in digital platforms such as Omeka and Neatline.
- Prepare scanned copies of tables of contents of Virgin Islands cookbooks for inclusion in a digital exhibit
- Perform digital encoding of Puerto Rican cookbooks for inclusion in a digital exhibit
- Curate data sets of Caribbean and Caribbean Diaspora cookbooks for inclusion in a digital exhibit
All work may be completed remotely. Some synchronous trainings and meetings required
Minimum Qualifications
Facility with learning digital tools and protocols
Attention to detail
Self-motivated
Ability to respond to feedback
Spanish-language proficiency or fluency would be a plus
Wages
$17.50/hr
