MCO Lab Aide – Media and Communication

Media and Communication Technologist is looking for additional support to help maintain the lab's open hours and assisting fellow students, faculty, and staff with any questions they may have about the iMacs, software and related coursework. While IT experience is not explicitly required experience working within this particular computer lab is. Only MCO courses are held in CC153 and the students coming in to use the space will more than likely be students with an MCO major. Having used this lab prior to applying for this role will help to insure that you can provide proper support and answer any questions as they arise.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor the Lab and use of its equipment during Open Lab Hours.
  • Provide general support to fellow MCO students using the iMacs and escalate more difficult issues and/or requests to the Media and Communication Technologist as needed.
  • Makes sure food and beverages are not consumed in the lab and/or liquids are not in close proximity to computers.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be an MCO Major. Must have successfully completed MCO 235 Multimedia Storytelling. Must have been awarded work study funds through Financial Aid in order to be eligible for hire.
