Student Strength and Conditioning Coach – Sport and Movement Science

As a Student Strength and Conditioning Coach at Salem State you will assist in developing and implementing training programs designed to improve athletic performance and overall fitness for our student-athletes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of strength and conditioning while pursuing your academic goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work hands-on with 15 different NCAA athletic teams and athletes
  • Assist with training sessions: set-up, execution and breakdown of strength and conditioning workouts
  • Observe and provide support during training sessions ensuring proper technique and safety
  • Assist with conducting fitness assessments and tracking athlete progress
  • Utilize VOLT programming software
  • Collaborate and network with strength & conditioning coaches, athletic trainers, and sports coaches.
  • Main and organize equipment and facilities
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any maintenance issues
  • Participate in education workshops and training sessions to enhance knowledge of strength and conditioning principles

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current SSU student pursuing a degree in Sport and Movement Science
  • Pursuing or have Accredited Certification (i.e. CSCS, SCCC, or ACSM)
  • CPR/AED certified is preferred. Will train if needed.
  • Strong understanding of strength and conditioning principles.
  • Enthusiasm for working with athletes and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take initiative.

Wages

$15.50/hr
