Senior Writing Center Tutor – English

Having demonstrated both a knowledge of Writing Center theory and an ability to successfully tutor fellow students, and having held the paid position of writing center tutor for a full semester, senior tutors are entrusted with additional responsibilities and duties as outlined below.

Duties and Responsibilities

Senior tutors will spend the majority of their time tutoring students who visit the Salem State University Writing Center. They will also assist with mailings and/or record keeping and serve as resources for the Writing Center's new tutors. They may occasionally open or close the Center, and may assist with presentations to classes visiting the Center.

Minimum Qualifications

Students must (1) have successfully completed ENL 302 Writing Center Practicum or (2) be enrolled in or have successfully completed ENG 870 Writing Center Graduate Practicum, and must have held the paid position of writing center tutor for a full semester.

Wages

$17.00/hr
