LEAP's Summer Work Program Facilitator – Center for Civic Engagement

  • LEAP for Education is currently looking for several Summer Work Program Facilitators for our “Summer Work Program,” which will be running for six-weeks for youth ages 14 to 21 from July 6th – August 12th. The program provides youth with paid, work-based learning experiences and is a first real job for many. Facilitators are ultimately responsible for ensuring all students in their cohort are on track for meeting the program goals and have the resources and support they need to be successful.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized case-management and foster a sense of community for an assigned cohort of up to 10 students throughout the summer program

  • Assist students in every component of the program including but not limited to: assisting students in filling out their hiring paperwork, helping students complete online career development learning modules, facilitating group breakouts in the weekly career readiness workshops, helping them develop their project ideas, daily office hours for one-on-one assistance, and group meetings twice per week to help students connect with each other and reflect on their experience
  • Communicate 2-3 times throughout the summer with students’ assigned mentors to check-in on student progress, successes, and areas of growth

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working with high school youth and/or young adults
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Committed to values of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • High school diploma
  • Must agree to a CORI background check
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred, but not required

Wages

$13.75/hr
