Center for Justice and Liberation (CJL) Ambassador – Center for Justice and Liberation

The Center for Justice and Liberation Ambassador will provide office support to the CJL Office and Center and assist any walk-in traffic. This role will also support various student organizations to plan events across campus and monitor events through Presence and 25Live.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide Administrative office support to the Center for Justice and Liberation office, specifically to the Cultural and Identity based registered Student Organizations
  • Meet weekly with the Staff Assistant to discuss and plan upcoming events
  • Help to assist with the coordination of the operation of the CJL Office and Center
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of large scale programming pertinent to the CJL.
  • Knowledge of the social change model (https://nclp.umd.edu/include/pdfs/publications/leadership_for_a_better_world.pdf)
  • Assist with training for peers based on the social change model of leadership
  • Communicate regularly with the CJL professional staff
  • Represent the CJL when checking in on events
  • Attend all scheduled meetings, training sessions, and assist in shift substitutions
  • Demonstrate flexibility in providing assistance as needed for the good functioning of the area

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be visible and interact professionally with students, faculty, staff and guests of the office.
  • Provide assistance and cooperation to staff members and guests
  • Be aware of the daily events that are being offered by registered student organizations
  • Be able to assist all student organizations with any information that will help them to accomplish the desired task
  • Demonstrate flexibility in providing assistance as needed for the good functioning of the area

Wages

$15.00/hr
