FYE Graduate Success Coach – First Year Experience
This position is for SPRING 2026. Graduate success coaches have several responsibilities within the Office of Student Success and the First Year Experience including:
- Serving as the primary contact for and manage a student case-load of first-year students
- Keep detailed records of interactions, referrals and recommendations; conduct outreach to students of concern; provide information and data to selected academic departments based on analytics.?
- Provide functional supervision to and participate in the recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation processes for undergraduate student staff.
- Design and execute assessments for various student success and/or first year initiatives, analyze data related to student success and first year experience initiatives and develop documents for distribution.
- Create academic success support materials for students to be utilized in classroom presentations, online workshops, brochures/handouts, and Canvas modules/resources.
- Assist in managing various social media initiatives including the official university class pages on Facebook and office Instagram accounts.
In addition, coaches will assist with programmatic initiatives within the office and may be assigned to provide leadership in one or more of the following areas:
- Assist with recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation of student staff.
- Advise first year honor society, Alpha Lambda Delta or first-generation honor society, Tri-Alpha or transfer honor society, Tau Sigma. Includes the coordination of student application process, annual induction ceremony, social and service events, and scholarship processes.
- Assist in coordinating the university Outstanding First-Year Advocate Award including: nomination process oversight and ceremony planning.
- Advise the First-Year Advisory Board or First-Generation Association.
- Coordinate outreach to incoming first-year students, answer questions, develop and host webinars with upper-class panelists, etc.
