BSB Peer Mentor – Bertolon School of Business
The Bertolon School of Business Peer Mentors provide academic and career coaching and advising assistance to BSB students. Peer Mentors meet with students on campus and online and help with course selection, resume writing, navigation of our website to locate career information, logging into and utilizing Viking Handshake (our online database of jobs and internships), moderating LinkedIn groups, and course registration. They also assist students with class and concentration selection and connect students to other campus resources. Peer Mentors deliver presentations and workshops on the program and assist new and continuing business students to be successful.

Duties and Responsibilities
Tasks:
- Assist students with class registration
- Help students plan their course load
- Prep students for advising meetings
- Aid students in major/career exploration
- Teach and edit students’ resumes and cover letters
- Assist students with internship and job searches
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements:
- Can commit to the program for at least 2 semesters
- Can commit to set schedule of at least 2 hours per week
- Able to attend one training day (date TBD)
- Able to attend at least one Professional Development/Bertolon School of Business event per semester
Qualifications:
- Must be pursuing a degree in business
- Maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA
- Must have completed a minimum of 15 credits at Salem State
- Show enthusiasm for the Bertolon School of Business
- Maintain a positive, professional, and friendly attitude
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively and get along well with others

$16.00/hr
