Admissions Desk Aide I – Graduate Admissions

Welcome all prospective students and families to the office. Respond proactively to phone inquires. Be mindful not to share information beyond the scope of your responsibilities. Assist in answering admissions and ambassador emails. Enforce and abide by all university policies. Work cooperatively with other Admissions Staff members. This includes the following: maintain confidentially about issues occurring at the front desk and throughout the office.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform tasks assigned by Admissions Professional Staff, including, but not limited to, the following: setting up appointments, assist with admissions open houses, assist with admissions staff with administrative tasks such as verifying of students in peoplesoft, data entry of prospect cards, the front desk schedule, complete other duties as assigned. Develop an understanding of Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, Transfer Services and Operations in order to properly assist prospective students. Become familiar with the services of other offices on the campus to appropriately refer students to the correct department including but not limited to Financial Aid, the Registrar, Academic Advising and Residence Life

Minimum Qualifications

Be familiar with and abide by all university policies. Abide by the departmental academic standards which includes remaining in good academic standing and maintaining a minimum 2.75 cumulative and semester GPA. Have demonstrated ability to relate respectfully and courteously to people. Have a sufficiently flexible schedule as to be available to work at least 10 hrs a week. Read and understand the desk policies/duties as outlined in the admissions manual. Assist in maintaining a professional work environment behind the front desk.
