Office Assistant – Center for International Education

General office work including word processing, answering phones, filing & directing international and study abroad students to appropriate persons or services. Duties and Responsibilities

Assigned tasks will include:

- Assisting with office tasks such as greeting incoming visitors, prospective students and study abroad applicants, and SSU faculty and staff

- Responding phone calls, emails, and in-person queries

- Assisting with all aspects of data management related to student applications, recruitment, and correspondence

- Translation where appropriate and needed

- Other tasks as requested


- Experience and comfort using various databases, Microsoft Word, Excel, and social media

- Confidence and professionalism in communicating on the phone, in-person, and in writing

- Demonstrated excellent communication and writing skills in English

- Experience working with a diverse, multicultural, and multilingual environment

- Ability to handle private and sensitive information in a professional manner

Preferred Qualification:

Fluency or bilingual capacity in more than one language

Experience with marketing or social media page management

Minimum Qualifications

Typing, computer skills (knowledge of Word and Excel); phone work; good communication skills; patient; dependable; have initiative; hard-worker and good interpersonal skills; foreign language proficiency. Entry level.
