FYE Office Assistant – First Year Experience

The FYE Office Assistant supports the First Year Experience office in staffing the reception desk, answering phones and referring students to appropriate resources. This is a work study position only (students must have work study through financial aid in order to apply).

Office Assistants represent the FYE office and university in a positive manner while working in the office and will be cross-trained to support the needs of the Center for Creative and Performing Arts (who share the office space with FYE).

Duties and Responsibilities

Office Assistants provide support for a variety of projects including advertising events, scheduling appointments, keeping the office organized, and carrying out administrative tasks (copying, organizing mailings, delivering materials across campus, distributing information to students, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

Student must have work study
Ability to refer student questions appropriately or find resources online.
Strong customer service skills

To apply, students should stop by the FYE Office in 101A Dining Commons (2nd floor) on North Campus in the beginning of the Fall semester or submit a completed application and resume to firstyear@salemstate.edu.

FYE will also be at the Student Employment and Volunteer Fair on Thursday September 5th.

Interviews begin on September 6th and end on September 16th.

Decisions will go out on September 18th.
