Annual Giving, Office Aide – Institutional Advancement

Annual Giving Office Aide/ Student Fundraisers are students who are philanthropy advocates and who engage alumni, students, parents and friends in financially supporting Salem State. They are leaders on-campus, making connections that lead to charitable support of Salem State.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Engage peers by personally asking them to support Salem State (i.e. tabling, campus events, online through social media and crowdfunding promotion and telemarketing)
  • Grow participation in the Senior Class Gift
  • Staff events that promote student philanthropy and provide an opportunity to make a gift
  • Serve as a social media influencer for student events and other campus events
  • Contact members of the Salem State community and alumni via telephone to thank donors, provide university updates, inform of upcoming events and update alumni records
  • Engage Salem State community and alumni through crowdfunding
  • Provide campus tours for alumni and friends upon request
  • Light office work is required
  • Student Philanthropy Council (SPC) membership required

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Comfortable engaging with peers and starting conversations about giving
  • Personable and positive
  • Sense of pride and affinity for supporting Salem State University through fundraising
  • Highly motivated, adaptable, dependable and demonstrates a willingness to learn
  • Self-starter and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in uses of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat)
  • Good organizational skills
  • Computer literate, particularly with Office products (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work some evenings

We are primarily looking for students who can work Tuesdays through Fridays 9am to 1pm.
