Information Security Administrator Aide – Public Safety and Risk Management

The Information Security Administrator Aide will assist the department with day-to-day security operations such as triaging security alerts and user reports, answering phone calls and security emails.

Duties and Responsibilities


-Monitoring and responding to inquiries in the security@salemstate.edu mailbox
-Contributing to extending and updating documentation of information security procedures
-Assisting in monitoring, responding to, and fine-tuning alerts from IDS and SIEM
-Assisting the Associate Director as needed
-Assisting in the automation of tasks by creating programs and scripts.
-Scanning and filing documentation including training sign in sheets, change control forms, and incident reports.
-Logging of relevant events, alerts, incidents, and inquiries into the Jira Ticketing system and/or Information Response Platform

Minimum Qualifications

-Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
-Ability to recognize and keep sensitive material confidential
-Knowledge of basic computer system attacks such as phishing, buffer overflows, SQL injection and malicious software
-Familiar with server and client operating systems (Windows and Linux).
-Knowledge of one or more computer scripting languages

Training is provided for event triage and incident response.

Due to the sensitive and confidential nature of work to be performed, employment may be contingent on the employee passing a CORI background check.

Wages

$13.50/hr
